OPEN REGISTRATION FOR ZONED STUDENTS
 
If you are a zoned  family who needs to register for the 2026-27 school year you can come to one of our open registration dates from 9:00am-1:00pm. Please look at our Enrollment section below so you know what to bring.

PS 158 School Tours

School tours are one way for families who are interested in attending PS 158 to physically enter our space and learn about us. 

Tours are conducted by students, parents and staff members: providing visitors an opportunity to get to know us by visiting various classes and spaces, meeting our School Leadership and staff, and getting a glimpse into our work. 

Tours are for adults only. Tours begin promptly. Please allow at least 15mins to present your ID upon entry and come up to the 2nd floor auditorium. As all guests are to show ID upon entering the school building. You do not need to live in our zone to attend a tour.

CLASS SIZE REDUCTION

NYCPS is implementing a 5 year class size reduction plan to meet NYS mandates, which requires specific class size caps by September 2028. 
 
  • K-3: 20 Students 
  • 4-5: 23 Students 
 
We are happy to share for the 2026-27 school year, PS 158 has many sections meeting the REDUCED CLASS SIZE MANDATE. 
 
PS 158 2026-2027 Class Size
  • Pre-K: all classes at 15 or below (can be up to 18)!
  • Kindergarten: all classes at 20 or below!
  • 1st Grade: all classes at 20 or below
  • 2nd Grade: all classes at 23 or below
  • 3rd Grade: all classes at 23 or below
  • 4th Grade: all classes at 23 or below! 
  • 5th Grade: all classes at 23 or below!

In order to register you MUST have your child with you.

Please do not redact or alter any documentation.

Please also bring:

  1. Original Birth Certificate or Passport
  2. Immunization Record (does not have to be up to date)
  3. Two proofs of address (please see checklist)
