Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) is a framework of academic and social-emotional support designed to ensure that all students succeed.
MTSS is grounded in rigorous, inclusive, and strength-based core instruction combined with school-wide collaboration and coordination to use multiple sources of data to allocate additional support for students when and where it is needed. The degree of support given to students is flexible and based on their needs.
Through MTSS, PS 158 promotes equitable learning environments by ensuring that all students have access to high quality instruction.
By implementing universal screeners, routine progress monitoring, culturally responsive instruction, tiered service delivery, data-based decision-making, and ongoing professional learning, PS 158 is able to meet the needs of diverse learners and strive for optimal child outcomes.
