Highlights from the NYC School Survey
What is the NYC School Survey?
Each year, all families and teachers (and students in grades 6-12) take the NYC School Survey to share feedback about their schools. The NYC School Survey is one of the nation’s largest education surveys. Survey feedback can help improve your child’s learning environment.
Who in our school did we hear from this year?
What are we proud of?
We are very proud of the respectful culture in our school community.
97% of families say that they feel respected by their child's teachers.
92% of families say that school staff works hard to build trusting relationships with families like them.
96% of families say that teachers and families think of each other as partners in educating children.
Where can we improve? How does your feedback help our school?
To better align with our school mission/goals, based on the feedback we received, we have moved to the Remind platform as a means to get important information to families quickly and efficiently. Another change we implemented was updating grade websites on our PS 158 website. These websites include information on units of study, instructional resources and important dates to remember.
Continue to share your voice!
Last year, over half a million families completed the survey citywide. We want to continue hearing from YOU to get more feedback! Please be sure to complete the NYC School survey this year. Survey administration will open in February 2020 and the survey will be available in 10 languages. Please remember that your feedback is voluntary and entirely confidential.
